Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 2.97% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 1.40% or 0.47 points to trade at 34.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) fell 0.30% or 0.07 points to end at 23.21 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was down 0.63% or 0.25 points to 39.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad (AS:RAND), which fell 13.63% or 5.58 points to trade at 35.38 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 12.55% or 2.08 points to end at 14.53 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was down 7.80% or 0.728 points to 8.607.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 157 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Randstad (AS:RAND) fell to 52-week lows; down 13.63% or 5.58 to 35.38. Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell to all time lows; losing 12.55% or 2.08 to 14.53. Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:ING) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.80% or 0.728 to 8.607.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.34% to 31.71.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.00% or 1.43 to $46.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.90% or 1.42 to hit $47.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1324.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.1029, while EUR/GBP rose 2.76% to 0.8350.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.91% at 96.50.
