Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which rose 3.80% or 0.37 points to trade at 10.00 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group (AMS:NN) added 1.32% or 0.33 points to end at 25.30 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was up 0.50% or 0.40 points to 80.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which fell 3.81% or 4.65 points to trade at 117.50 at the close. OCI (AMS:OCI) declined 2.97% or 0.800 points to end at 26.130 and Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) was down 2.85% or 1.10 points to 37.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 146 to 92 and 1 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.63% to 21.01.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.84% or 1.11 to $61.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.41% or 0.92 to hit $65.80 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.80 to trade at $1193.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 2.23% to 1.1172, while EUR/GBP rose 1.14% to 0.7272.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.76% at 95.81.
