Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.93% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.61% or 1.880 points to trade at 53.890 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AS:KPN) added 0.36% or 0.010 points to end at 2.800 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 0.20% or 0.03 points to 15.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which fell 2.51% or 0.085 points to trade at 3.295 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 2.11% or 0.106 points to end at 4.915 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 1.88% or 1.20 points to 62.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 101 to 62 and 8 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.02% to 18.19.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.14% or 0.94 to $42.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.65% or 0.77 to hit $45.82 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.47% or 6.20 to trade at $1311.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8535.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 96.02.
