Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Vopak (AS:VOPA), which rose 6.46% or 2.89 points to trade at 47.60 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 3.83% or 0.70 points to end at 19.00 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 2.62% or 0.14 points to 5.33 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which fell 4.07% or 3.59 points to trade at 84.66 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 1.44% or 0.85 points to end at 58.15 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.36% or 0.215 points to 15.620.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 93 to 68 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.05% to 17.94 a new 6-months low.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.95% or 0.83 to $43.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.00% or 0.88 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1255.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1326, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7878.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.28.
