Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food Producers, Support Services and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which rose 7.18% or 0.37 points to trade at 5.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AMS:ATCA) added 5.94% or 1.11 points to end at 19.81 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was up 2.83% or 0.67 points to 24.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad (AMS:RAND), which fell 4.11% or 2.27 points to trade at 52.95 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) declined 3.08% or 0.103 points to end at 3.236 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) was down 1.70% or 4.05 points to 234.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 94 to 84 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.35% to 25.42 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.10% or 0.05 to $48.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.45% or 0.23 to hit $52.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1145.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1248, while EUR/GBP fell 0.92% to 0.7335.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.58.
