Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.69% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which rose 4.80% or 0.40 points to trade at 8.69 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) added 3.07% or 2.71 points to end at 91.12 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) was up 2.98% or 3.50 points to 120.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep (AMS:ING), which fell 3.49% or 0.545 points to trade at 15.065 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc) declined 0.85% or 0.26 points to end at 30.43 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) was down 0.28% or 0.70 points to 246.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 115 to 102 and 1 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.45% to 16.02.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.66% or 0.76 to $44.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 0.78 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.57% or 6.20 to trade at $1084.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.0867, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.6968.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 98.22.
