Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 6.51% or 3.79 points to trade at 62.00 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.67% or 0.149 points to end at 5.722 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 1.30% or 0.18 points to 14.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 0.36% or 0.89 points to trade at 244.96 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.35% or 0.07 points to end at 21.64 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was down 0.24% or 0.007 points to 2.933.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 114 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.04% to 16.93.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $47.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.50 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.90 to trade at $1326.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1230, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 95.19.
