Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 2.23%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 12.95% or 64.110 points to trade at 559.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 4.20% or 2.050 points to end at 50.850 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 0.35% or 0.180 points to 52.010 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which fell 8.15% or 1.61 points to trade at 18.14 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 7.44% or 8.460 points to end at 105.180 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 6.44% or 5.740 points to 83.410.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 114 to 89 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 12.95% or 64.110 to 559.040. Shares in Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) fell to all time lows; losing 8.15% or 1.61 to 18.14. Shares in Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.20% or 2.050 to 50.850.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.00 to $1277.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.80% or 0.36 to hit $45.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.04 to trade at $46.52 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.51% to 19.9475, while EUR/MXN rose 0.90% to 21.7965.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 98.66.
