Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 2.18% or 0.83 points to trade at 38.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) added 1.85% or 0.110 points to end at 6.070 and Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) was up 1.73% or 3.870 points to 227.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which fell 1.48% or 1.07 points to trade at 71.30 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 1.20% or 1.170 points to end at 96.450 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was down 1.12% or 0.470 points to 41.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 76 to 39 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.18% or 0.83 to 38.95.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.30 to $1118.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.87% or 1.78 to hit $44.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.76% or 1.86 to trade at $47.74 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.30% to 16.9925, while EUR/MXN rose 0.44% to 18.9764.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.14.
