Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 2.53% or 2.41 points to trade at 97.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.48% or 1.070 points to end at 44.300 and Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) was up 1.28% or 1.90 points to 150.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 1.86% or 15.17 points to trade at 802.30 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 1.43% or 0.690 points to end at 47.480 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was down 1.42% or 1.66 points to 115.22.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 124 to 94 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.97% or 12.50 to $1277.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.53% or 0.25 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.37 to trade at $51.10 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.22% to 17.8049, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 20.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 93.74.
