Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Financials and Industrial Products sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (KL:KLCC), which fell 0.14% or 0.01 points to trade at 7.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) added 2.46% or 0.12 points to end at 5.00 and Petronas Dagangan Bhd (KL:PETR) was down 0.28% or 0.06 points to 21.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Axiata Group Bhd (KL:AXIA), which fell 0.16% or 0.01 points to trade at 6.14 at the close. DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) added 0.19% or 0.01 points to end at 5.23 and IOI Corporation Bhd (KL:IOIB) was up 0.25% or 0.01 points to 4.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 321 to 252 and 30 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.62% or 0.27 to $42.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.76% or 0.36 to hit $47.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.00 to trade at $1126.60 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.49% to 2.9862, while USD/MYR fell 0.05% to 4.1960.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.63.
