Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Industrial Products and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI gained 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Petronas Gas Bhd (KL:PGAS), which rose 7.12% or 1.56 points to trade at 23.48 at the close. Meanwhile, PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) added 3.75% or 0.58 points to end at 16.06 and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENA) was up 1.85% or 0.26 points to 14.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH), which fell 0.96% or 0.02 points to trade at 2.06 at the close. Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM) declined 0.93% or 0.04 points to end at 4.26 and British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Bhd (KL:BATO) was down 0.65% or 0.42 points to 64.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 264 to 210 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH) fell to all time lows; losing 0.96% or 0.02 to 2.06.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.72% or 0.43 to $60.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.48% or 0.32 to hit $67.13 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1229.70 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.01% to 2.6964, while USD/MYR rose 0.20% to 3.5675.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 93.80.
