Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.66%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 1.60% or 0.0059 points to trade at 0.3744 at the close. Meanwhile, Campari (MI:CPRI) added 0.70% or 0.06 points to end at 8.59 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 0.63% or 0.0450 points to 7.2250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which fell 5.30% or 0.1860 points to trade at 3.3260 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) declined 5.11% or 0.1940 points to end at 3.6060 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was down 4.42% or 0.0395 points to 0.8550.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 256 to 129 and 18 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.46% or 0.64 to $43.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.75% or 0.34 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.98% or 12.05 to trade at $1242.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.7776.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 94.69.
