Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 1.90% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.8055 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) added 0.54% or 0.23 points to end at 42.60 and Italcementi (MI:ITAI) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 10.570 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UBI Banca (MI:UBI), which fell 4.07% or 0.0960 points to trade at 2.2600 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 3.72% or 0.130 points to end at 3.360 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) was down 3.54% or 0.0088 points to 0.2398.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 307 to 80 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in UBI Banca (MI:UBI) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.07% or 0.0960 to 2.2600. Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) fell to all time lows; down 3.54% or 0.0088 to 0.2398.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.34% or 0.16 to $46.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.61% or 0.30 to hit $49.53 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 6.85 to trade at $1350.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1265, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8667.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 94.90.
