Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 2.96%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which rose 0.42% or 0.05 points to trade at 11.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Snam (MILAN:SRG) added 0.40% or 0.018 points to end at 4.522 and Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI) was up 0.13% or 0.02 points to 15.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA), which fell 6.46% or 0.950 points to trade at 13.760 at the close. Prysmian (MILAN:PRY) declined 5.14% or 1.13 points to end at 20.85 and Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX) was down 4.95% or 3.25 points to 62.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 409 to 47 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.44% or 0.19 to $43.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.75% or 0.38 to hit $50.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.39% or 15.40 to trade at $1123.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.31% to 1.1187, while EUR/GBP rose 0.86% to 0.7154.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.14% at 96.12.
