Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA), which rose 5.75% or 0.760 points to trade at 13.980 at the close. Meanwhile, CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) added 3.86% or 0.305 points to end at 8.205 and Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) was up 3.09% or 0.54 points to 18.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 3.58% or 0.172 points to trade at 4.628 at the close. Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW) declined 2.28% or 0.044 points to end at 1.890 and Mediolanum (MILAN:MED) was down 0.96% or 0.070 points to 7.210.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 274 to 172 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) rose to all time highs; rising 3.09% or 0.54 to 18.01.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.10% or 0.06 to hit $53.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 4.60 to trade at $1088.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.0899, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7002.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 97.86.
