Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Communication, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 declined 0.59% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the TA 25 were Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT), which rose 1.23% or 450 points to trade at 36970 at the close. Meanwhile, Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) added 0.99% or 160 points to end at 16350 and Israel Corp (TA:ILCO) was up 0.86% or 610 points to 71710 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bezeq (TA:BEZQ), which fell 3.03% or 25.0 points to trade at 800.0 at the close. Strauss Group (TA:STRS) declined 1.65% or 98 points to end at 5846 and First International Bank of Israel (TA:FTIN) was down 1.61% or 76 points to 4653.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 202 to 132 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) rose to all time highs; up 0.99% or 160 to 16350.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.08% or 0.47 to $44.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.23 to hit $45.20 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.50% or 6.45 to trade at $1285.35 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.24% to 3.7889, while EUR/ILS rose 0.23% to 4.3542.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 93.23.
