Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 4.42% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which rose 2.16% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 1.00% or 0.010 points to end at 1.010 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 0.74% or 0.010 points to 1.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which fell 11.46% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.309 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 9.17% or 0.021 points to end at 0.208 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was down 8.48% or 0.0190 points to 0.2040.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 87 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.71% or 9.10 to $1285.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.07 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $50.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1292, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7923.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 94.40.
