Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Frigoglass (AT:FRIr), which rose 10.03% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 7.17% or 0.022 points to end at 0.329 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 5.37% or 0.026 points to 0.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr), which fell 6.67% or 0.056 points to trade at 0.784 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.34% or 0.013 points to end at 0.192 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was down 4.83% or 0.034 points to 0.676.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 57 to 36 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1256.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.60% or 1.05 to hit $41.41 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.69% or 1.15 to trade at $43.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1387, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.7998.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 94.07.
