Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Banking and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Sidenor (AT:SID), which rose 6.19% or 0.056 points to trade at 0.961 at the close. Meanwhile, Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 5.01% or 0.019 points to end at 0.398 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 4.52% or 0.010 points to 0.231 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which fell 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.130 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 5.82% or 0.68 points to end at 11.01 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 4.08% or 0.006 points to 0.141.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 39 to 37 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.37% or 4.50 to $1211.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.41% or 0.82 to hit $58.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.91 to trade at $64.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1107, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7141.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.60.
