Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Household, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 20.45% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.106 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 5.71% or 0.010 points to end at 0.185 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) was up 5.30% or 0.15 points to 2.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which fell 2.86% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.020 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) declined 2.68% or 0.11 points to end at 4.00 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was down 2.51% or 0.09 points to 3.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 46 to 41 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.30 to $1220.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.08% or 0.43 to hit $39.36 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.16 to trade at $40.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.7893.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.21.
