Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Software and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.32%, while the MDAX index declined 0.47%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 3.76% or 1.22 points to trade at 33.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 0.98% or 3.40 points to end at 352.00 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 0.69% or 1.05 points to 153.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 6.89% or 38.60 points to trade at 522.00 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 4.03% or 1.90 points to end at 45.20 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was down 3.47% or 5.92 points to 164.60.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 3.48% to 6.60, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was up 2.24% to settle at 48.92 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 2.02% to close at 12.60.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 8.28% to 38.54 in late trade, Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which lost 2.89% to settle at 68.85 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was down 2.45% to 41.85 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 3.76% to 33.54, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 2.02% to settle at 12.60 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 1.87% to close at 38.20.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 8.28% to 38.54 in late trade, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which lost 2.71% to settle at 172.42 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 2.42% to 86.75 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 365 to 242 and 30 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.14% to 15.38 a new 3-months high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.40% or 9.45 to $2,360.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.79% or 0.68 to hit $85.75 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.49 to trade at $89.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 103.91.
