Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the General Retailers, Oil & Gas Producers and Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 2.76%, while the SBF 120 index fell 2.63%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PARIS:SAF), which fell 0.69% or 0.47 points to trade at 67.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Alcatel Lucent SA (PARIS:ALUA) fell 0.72% or 0.023 points to end at 3.159 and Vinci SA (PARIS:SGEF) was down 1.20% or 0.69 points to 57.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which fell 8.26% or 0.42 points to trade at 4.62 at the close. Kering SA (PARIS:PRTP) declined 5.38% or 7.95 points to end at 139.70 and Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) was down 5.23% or 0.69 points to 12.41.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which rose 8.97% to 0.243, Remy Cointreau (PARIS:RCOP) which was up 4.29% to settle at 56.34 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which gained 0.68% to close at 18.635.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PARIS:DBV) which was down 9.96% to 67.500 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) which lost 8.26% to settle at 4.62 and Aperam (AMS:APAM) which was down 8.21% to 22.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 559 to 164 and 48 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 9.13% to 31.79.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.11% or 12.70 to $1132.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.87% or 1.31 to hit $44.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.62% or 1.27 to trade at $47.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1242, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.7396.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 96.06.
