Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Leisure Goods, Beverage and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.66%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN), which rose 3.14% or 1.55 points to trade at 50.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) added 1.77% or 1.95 points to end at 112.40 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.70% or 1.26 points to 75.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 5.53% or 0.20 points to trade at 3.48 at the close. Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) declined 3.46% or 0.196 points to end at 5.461 and Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) was down 3.43% or 2.81 points to 79.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rexel (PA:RXL) which rose 4.49% to 10.82, Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which was up 3.68% to settle at 19.03 and Maurel Et Prom (PA:MAUP) which gained 3.38% to close at 2.75.
The worst performers were Euronext (PA:ENX) which was down 6.66% to 40.37 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which lost 5.53% to settle at 3.48 and Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 5.03% to 5.438 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 371 to 281 and 117 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) fell to all time lows; losing 3.46% or 0.196 to 5.461.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.30% to 29.37.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1157.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.25% or 0.40 to hit $31.32 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.18 to trade at $34.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1135, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.7702.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 97.13.
