Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the General Retailers, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP), which rose 0.81% or 0.68 points to trade at 85.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) added 0.63% or 0.28 points to end at 44.81 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was up 0.57% or 0.20 points to 35.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 3.23% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.58 at the close. Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) declined 2.74% or 0.40 points to end at 14.19 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) was down 2.36% or 1.22 points to 50.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which rose 4.16% to 25.07, Numericable Pr (PA:NUME) which was up 3.13% to settle at 40.480 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which gained 3.05% to close at 33.155.
The worst performers were Solocal Group SA (PA:LOCAL) which was down 3.60% to 7.230 in late trade, Faurecia (PA:EPED) which lost 3.39% to settle at 35.01 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was down 3.23% to 4.58 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 369 to 353 and 57 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.75% to 22.56.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.34% or 14.30 to $1055.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.49% or 1.07 to hit $41.97 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.42 to trade at $45.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0600, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.7050.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 100.08.
