Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 2.08%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 6.50% or 0.2140 points to trade at 3.5060 at the close. Meanwhile, Valmt (HE:VALMT) added 5.33% or 0.49 points to end at 9.78 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 4.58% or 1.28 points to 29.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which fell 0.07% or 0.02 points to trade at 28.99 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) added 0.37% or 0.06 points to end at 16.31 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) was up 0.79% or 0.33 points to 42.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 143 to 27 and 21 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.73% or 0.29 to $40.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.39% or 0.15 to hit $38.43 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.60 to trade at $1228.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7874.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 94.88.
