Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 1.89%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which rose 3.37% or 0.1180 points to trade at 3.6200 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOKIA) added 3.25% or 0.185 points to end at 5.885 and KONE Oyj (HEL:KNEBV) was up 3.14% or 1.08 points to 35.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V), which rose 0.37% or 0.02 points to trade at 5.42 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HEL:NESTE) added 0.47% or 0.11 points to end at 23.59 and Amer Sports Corporation (HEL:AMEAS) was up 0.97% or 0.23 points to 23.93.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 140 to 32 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.71% or 0.84 to $48.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.46% or 0.67 to hit $45.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.50% or 16.80 to trade at $1104.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7261.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 96.29.
