Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 5.74% or 0.2000 points to trade at 3.6860 at the close. Meanwhile, Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) added 4.96% or 1.68 points to end at 35.57 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 4.03% or 0.142 points to 3.662 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which fell 4.28% or 0.217 points to trade at 4.858 at the close. Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) declined 2.94% or 0.30 points to end at 9.92 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.57% or 0.022 points to 3.860.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 125 to 50 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.57% or 0.022 to 3.860.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 3.26% or 1.54 to $48.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.92% or 1.35 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.55 to trade at $1292.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1271, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.7872.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.36.
