Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.72% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V), which rose 9.44% or 2.17 points to trade at 25.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) added 4.96% or 0.55 points to end at 11.63 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 3.69% or 0.89 points to 25.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which fell 2.18% or 0.87 points to trade at 39.12 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 1.25% or 0.100 points to end at 7.875 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 1.22% or 0.060 points to 4.840.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 101 to 69 and 22 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.80% or 0.83 to $45.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.81% or 0.81 to hit $43.94 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.79% or 10.55 to trade at $1320.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0960, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 97.56.
