Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which rose 2.59% or 0.36 points to trade at 14.25 at the close. Meanwhile, YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) added 1.65% or 0.12 points to end at 7.08 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 1.56% or 0.49 points to 31.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV), which fell 1.87% or 0.87 points to trade at 45.69 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 1.17% or 0.050 points to end at 4.220 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was down 0.03% or 0.01 points to 32.56.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 119 to 45 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.65% or 0.12 to 7.08.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.54% or 1.18 to $47.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.15% or 0.96 to hit $45.63 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.58% or 7.75 to trade at $1322.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1201, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8616.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.53.
