Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.41% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V), which rose 2.18% or 0.14 points to trade at 6.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) added 2.17% or 0.71 points to end at 33.47 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 1.58% or 0.40 points to 25.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which fell 1.32% or 0.49 points to trade at 36.58 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 1.07% or 0.0500 points to end at 4.6380 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 0.96% or 0.31 points to 31.96.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 117 to 55 and 19 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.92% or 0.89 to $47.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.74% or 0.78 to hit $45.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.94% or 12.65 to trade at $1330.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1117, while EUR/GBP fell 1.29% to 0.8335.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 96.09.
