Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Gas, Water & Multiutilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite rose 2.93%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 3.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Nanning Dep (SS:600712), which rose 10.09% or 0.590 points to trade at 6.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Harbin Hi-Tech (SS:600095) added 10.06% or 0.840 points to end at 9.190 and Yuntianhua (SS:600096) was up 10.05% or 0.930 points to 10.180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Meihua Holding (SS:600873), which fell 10.02% or 0.840 points to trade at 7.540 at the close. P2P Financial Information Service Co Ltd (SS:600696) declined 10.01% or 1.130 points to end at 10.160 and Jonjee Tech (SS:600872) was down 9.99% or 2.160 points to 19.460.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Invengo Information Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002161) which rose 10.05% to 10.40, Guangzhou Zhujiang Brewery Co Ltd (SZ:002461) which was up 10.05% to settle at 11.06 and Wuhan Tianyu Info Industry (SZ:300205) which gained 10.04% to close at 13.26.
The worst performers were Zhangzidao Group Co Ltd (SZ:002069) which was down 10.02% to 17.78 in late trade, Vtron Technologies Ltd (SZ:002308) which lost 10.01% to settle at 27.870 and Glodon Software Co Ltd (SZ:002410) which was down 10.00% to 20.34 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 917 to 29.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 17.12% to 55.47.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.12% or 1.40 to $1120.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.78% or 1.28 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.14% or 0.55 to trade at $48.17 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.03% to 6.3639, while EUR/CNY rose 0.07% to 7.1144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 96.11.
