Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Public Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3), which rose 5.64% or 0.50 points to trade at 9.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Oi SA (SA:OIBR4) added 3.59% or 0.22 points to end at 6.35 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) was up 2.93% or 0.21 points to 7.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3), which fell 4.64% or 0.90 points to trade at 18.50 at the close. ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) declined 4.44% or 0.06 points to end at 1.29 and Light SA (SA:LIGT3) was down 4.00% or 0.76 points to 18.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 152 to 121 and 11 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.31% to 29.37.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1209.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.28% or 0.74 to hit $58.73 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 2.47% or 3.45 to trade at $136.07 .
USD/BRL was down 1.09% to 3.0033, while EUR/BRL fell 1.53% to 3.3337.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.66.
