Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Consumption and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 21.69% or 0.41 points to trade at 2.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) added 7.69% or 0.10 points to end at 1.40 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was up 6.40% or 0.35 points to 5.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which fell 5.99% or 1.98 points to trade at 31.07 at the close. Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3) declined 5.62% or 1.00 points to end at 16.80 and Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3) was down 5.02% or 0.32 points to 6.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 146 to 132 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.99% or 1.98 to 31.07.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.47% to 51.69.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.95% or 11.00 to $1168.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.79% or 0.89 to hit $30.84 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 2.15% or 2.65 to trade at $120.38 .
USD/BRL was up 0.37% to 3.9039, while EUR/BRL fell 0.21% to 4.3515.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 97.05.
