Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Public Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 6.32% or 0.450 points to trade at 7.570 at the close. Meanwhile, JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) added 5.70% or 0.63 points to end at 11.69 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) was up 4.07% or 0.50 points to 12.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which fell 2.39% or 0.83 points to trade at 33.92 at the close. Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3) declined 1.91% or 0.57 points to end at 29.31 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) was down 1.76% or 0.26 points to 14.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 167 to 140 and 19 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.47% to 31.60.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.94% or 12.75 to $1344.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $48.50 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.29% or 0.40 to trade at $139.00 .
USD/BRL was down 1.03% to 3.2061, while EUR/BRL fell 1.30% to 3.6304.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 94.48.
