Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 4.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which rose 9.91% or 0.21 points to trade at 2.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) added 9.12% or 1.30 points to end at 15.55 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR4) was up 7.70% or 0.73 points to 10.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which fell 1.76% or 0.38 points to trade at 21.20 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 6.15 and Tractebel Energia SA (SA:TBLE3) was up 0.95% or 0.35 points to 37.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 230 to 72 and 20 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 7.69% to 42.03.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.07% or 0.85 to $1267.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.23% or 0.97 to hit $44.41 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.89% or 2.39 to trade at $128.92 .
USD/BRL was down 1.34% to 3.4693, while EUR/BRL fell 1.44% to 3.9451.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 94.24.
