Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 3.67%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 20.37% or 0.55 points to trade at 3.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 14.29% or 0.21 points to end at 1.68 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) was up 11.53% or 2.16 points to 20.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which fell 6.55% or 1.98 points to trade at 28.25 at the close. Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) declined 5.71% or 1.00 points to end at 16.50 and JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) was down 5.69% or 0.58 points to 9.62.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 205 to 90 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.55% or 1.98 to 28.25. Shares in Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.71% or 1.00 to 16.50.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.41% to 53.93.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.36% or 4.50 to $1242.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.15% or 2.29 to hit $39.55 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 0.58% or 0.69 to trade at $120.47 .
USD/BRL was down 2.59% to 3.5920, while EUR/BRL fell 2.40% to 4.0940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.23.
