Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.83% or 0.71 points to trade at 39.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) added 1.35% or 0.10 points to end at 7.71 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.37% or 0.17 points to 45.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 2.26% or 1.19 points to trade at 51.56 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.02% or 1.130 points to end at 54.770 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 1.34% or 1.35 points to 99.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 74 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.57% or 17.80 to $1118.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.69% or 1.24 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.33% or 1.14 to trade at $49.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.0947, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7104.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 97.42.
