Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.24% or 0.35 points to trade at 28.52 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.04% or 0.505 points to end at 49.185 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.66% or 0.24 points to 36.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delhaize Group (BR:DELB), which fell 2.08% or 1.96 points to trade at 92.33 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 1.92% or 0.200 points to end at 10.225 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 1.23% or 0.52 points to 41.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 82 to 52 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telenet Group (BR:TNET) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.23% or 0.52 to 41.65.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.30% or 3.80 to $1276.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.96% or 1.37 to hit $47.58 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.49% or 1.19 to trade at $49.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1329, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7863.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.47.
