Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB), which rose 7.42% or 5.86 points to trade at 84.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BRU:COLR) added 1.62% or 0.67 points to end at 41.68 and Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) was up 0.96% or 0.15 points to 15.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb), which fell 1.93% or 1.135 points to trade at 57.610 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BRU:COFB) declined 1.14% or 1.08 points to end at 93.33 and Elia (BRU:ELI) was down 0.53% or 0.205 points to 38.280.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 112 to 65 and 2 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.39% or 4.60 to $1189.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.89% or 1.16 to hit $60.10 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.11% or 1.39 to trade at $64.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.05% to 1.1270, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.7343.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.68% at 95.34.
