Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 8.78% or 4.730 points to trade at 58.620 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.62% or 0.38 points to end at 23.59 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 1.54% or 0.475 points to 31.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 3.70% or 1.15 points to trade at 29.95 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 0.95% or 0.70 points to end at 72.78 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 0.12% or 0.03 points to 20.89.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 108 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.75 to $1316.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.24% or 0.54 to hit $44.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.57 to trade at $46.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1173, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8569.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 95.76.
