Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Pharma & Bio-technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.00% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.56% or 1.410 points to trade at 56.500 at the close. Meanwhile, DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) added 2.01% or 0.620 points to end at 31.525 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.58% or 0.75 points to 131.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 4.93% or 0.39 points to trade at 7.57 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) declined 1.03% or 0.445 points to end at 42.765 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was down 1.03% or 0.41 points to 38.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 74 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.23% or 13.20 to $1056.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.53% or 1.09 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.58 to trade at $44.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0602, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.7051.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 100.07.
