Stone Energy has came out of bankruptcy and shed much of its massive debt. They got rid of the property in the upper north east that would have cost them a lot of capital to develop and made a huge profit on that deal. They are now focusing on their core business and looking to expand and diversify their business which is why they hired the consultants. The 1:5 stock split was a boon to current share holders and the value of the company should be around $60-90 a share in my opinion. I also think they are ripe for a buyout by a major oil company but don't quote me on that....
