BOSTON (Reuters) - A female passenger who Massachusetts State police said attempted to enter the cockpit on a Boston-bound British Airways flight was restrained and troopers were in position to take the passenger into custody, police said on Tuesday.
Police identified the flight number as 213, which left London's Heathrow airport at 6:57 a.m. ET (1157 GMT) and said troopers were positioned at the jet bridge to take the passenger into custody.
Massachusetts police said the passenger had attempted to enter the aircraft's cockpit, but an airline spokesman told New York's ABC television affiliate that the passenger had tried to open an exit door.
British Airways is part of International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (L:ICAG).
Live television images showed the aircraft parked at a jetway at Boston Logan International Airport.
The FBI said it was responding to the incident.
