Uber rival Lyft eyeing expansion into London market

Investing.com - Lyft, Uber’s closest U.S. competitor in the ride-hailing business is said to be targeting the UK for international expansion, as Uber fights to overturn a planned ban in London.
Lyft has held several meetings with officials from London's transport regulator over the past year, according to public records.
Lyft has already gained market share from Uber in the U.S., in part by capitalizing on a string of controversies surrounding its rival by promoting a more driver-friendly image.
London's transport regulator said last Friday it would not renew Uber's license to operate because it deemed the company unfit.
Uber’s London license expires on September 30th, but it can continue to operate while it pursues a legal appeal.
An expansion in the UK by Lyft would raise the stakes for Uber in what is its largest European market.
