Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs and Electrical sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 4.79% or 59.00 points to trade at 1290.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Standard Life PLC (LON:SLA) added 3.21% or 13.20 points to end at 424.00 and Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) was up 3.08% or 9.90 points to 331.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Experian PLC (LON:EXPN), which fell 1.45% or 22.00 points to trade at 1495.00 at the close. Marks and Spencer Group PLC (LON:MKS) declined 1.10% or 3.60 points to end at 323.50 and Provident Financial (LON:PFG) was down 1.01% or 20.00 points to 1956.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1378 to 528 and 442 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tui AG (LON:TUIT) rose to all time highs; rising 4.79% or 59.00 to 1290.00. Shares in Provident Financial (LON:PFG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.01% or 20.00 to 1956.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.45 to $1289.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.21% or 0.59 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 0.76 to trade at $51.34 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.25% to 1.2976, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.9075.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 93.31.
