Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Textile and Auto sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 9.97% or 1.65 points to trade at 18.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) added 9.97% or 7.20 points to end at 79.40 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was up 9.93% or 4.30 points to 47.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which fell 10.00% or 5.40 points to trade at 48.60 at the close. Right Way Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1506) declined 9.92% or 2.40 points to end at 21.80 and Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) was down 7.17% or 0.95 points to 12.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 394 to 383 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.97% or 1.65 to 18.20. Shares in Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.97% or 7.20 to 79.40. Shares in Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.93% or 4.30 to 47.60.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.11% or 0.05 to $47.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.68 to trade at $1238.32 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.447, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.67.
