Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 1.90%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 8.55% or 2.60 points to trade at 33.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Boliden AB (ST:BOL) added 4.86% or 6.30 points to end at 135.80 and Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa) was up 3.98% or 4.0 points to 104.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TeliaSonera AB (ST:TLSN), which fell 4.74% or 1.98 points to trade at 39.77 at the close. Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) declined 4.06% or 22.00 points to end at 520.00 and Securitas AB ser. B (ST:SECUb) was down 0.59% or 0.80 points to 133.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 359 to 182 and 62 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.05% or 0.02 to $42.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $44.64 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.09% or 13.70 to trade at $1247.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.18% to 9.1861, while USD/SEK rose 0.74% to 8.1441.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 94.75.
