Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Manufacturing and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 1.36% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) added 18.93% or 159.00 points to end at 999.00 and Commercial Development Company PLC (CM:COMD) was up 14.13% or 14.10 points to 113.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 11.11% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) declined 10.16% or 12.00 points to end at 106.10 and On`ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) was down 9.09% or 5.90 points to 59.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 180 to 57 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to 52-week lows; losing 11.11% or 0.10 to 0.90. Shares in Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) rose to all time highs; rising 18.93% or 159.00 to 999.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.45% or 1.32 to $39.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.58% or 1.53 to hit $44.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.49% or 5.60 to trade at $1148.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.45% to 209.785, while USD/LKR fell 0.70% to 133.120.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 94.18.
