Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Beverages & Tobacco and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO), which rose 19.47% or 219.00 points to trade at 1344.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) added 15.58% or 2.40 points to end at 17.80 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 33.33% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 18.67% or 16.30 points to end at 71.00 and Lion Brewery Ceylon PLC (CM:LION) was down 10.87% or 48.90 points to 401.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 89 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; down 33.33% or 0.1000 to 0.2000. Shares in Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) rose to 52-week highs; up 15.58% or 2.40 to 17.80.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.66% or 0.34 to $50.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.39 to hit $53.48 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.93 to trade at $1259.47 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.47% to 197.770, while USD/LKR fell 0.15% to 152.560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.82.
